I do know that the online version does not interact with any physical hardware so it can be used as a standalone tool (as can the desktop versions, no physical hardware is required). Now in Multisim, you can accurately evaluate power electronics circuits built around International Rectifier IGBTs ranging from 300V to 1200V based on various technologies. NI does have Multisim Live now ( ) which has both a free and a paid version, though I'm not fully certain of the differences between the online version and the desktop (i.e. For Switched Mode Power Supplies designs, Multisim 14.0.0 includes over 100 new and updated IGBT components with footprints and simulation models.

Whether or not that is worth it to you is more of a personal opinion so I won't be of much help in that regard. It will have the same name as the Multisim Live design.
